The atmosphere in Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province is electric as the 2025 National Billiards & Snooker Championship kicks off. This prestigious event, which commenced on June 1, has become the focal point for the best players from all corners of the country.
A total of approximately 230 top cueists have gathered to showcase their skills in what promises to be a thrilling final round of competitions. The championship encompasses a variety of disciplines including 1-cushion carom, 3-cushion carom, 9-ball pool, 10-ball pool, and snooker. Notably, this year’s edition also introduces women’s 9-ball pool and 3-cushion carom categories for the first time.
Amongst the participants are renowned stars like Trần Quyết Chiến, Nguyễn Quốc Nguyện, and Nguyễn Trần Thanh Tự who add an extra layer of excitement to the tournament with their exceptional talents. Đinh Nguyễn Hoàng, head coach of the Bà Rịa–Vũng Tàu team, expressed his optimism about his province’s chances at clinching top honors in selected events.
“I hope our team will achieve top results in some events we are targeting like men’s 9-ball Pool, men’s 10-ball Pool and women’s 3-cushion Carom,”
said Hoàng. The stakes are high as players aim to demonstrate their prowess and claim victory in their respective categories.
The tournament began with a grand opening ceremony where representatives of VBSF (Vietnam Billiards & Snooker Federation) recognized and awarded certificates of merit to players who had excelled in Asian and international tournaments since early 2024. This acknowledgment not only motivates the athletes but also highlights Vietnam’s growing presence on the global billiards and snooker stage.
As enthusiasts eagerly anticipate thrilling matches and nail-biting finishes over the course of this championship that runs until June 11, it is evident that this event serves as a platform for talent to shine and camaraderie to flourish within Vietnam’s billiards and snooker community.
