Goyos Musical Journey Unveiling the Passion Behind Pantera

Goyo, known for her Latin Grammy-nominated group ChocQuibTown, has taken a bold step into her solo career with the release of her debut studio album, “Pantera.

” This 14-track masterpiece is not just an ordinary musical collection; it’s a reflection of Goyo’s deepest emotions, influences, and personal growth.

Inspired by a blend of revolutionary movements, blockbuster movies, and her own life experiences, “

Pantera

” holds a special place in Goyo’s heart. The title itself is symbolic as she explains, “

it’s a very instinctive and elegant animal, and all of that resonates with me.

” This choice reflects the artist’s connection to strength, grace, and raw authenticity.

One of the driving forces behind the album is the Black Panther Party—a movement founded in 1966 to protect Black communities. Goyo found inspiration not only in the historical significance of this organization but also in its representation in pop culture through Wakanda from the Marvel universe. She shares her journey of discovery saying, “

I learned about the movement through Tupac… Learning about the entire political and social movement was quite beautiful for me.”

In “Pantera,

” Goyo immerses herself in Afrobeats rhythms while infusing empowering lyrics that resonate with listeners on a profound level. Collaborating with renowned artists such as Pras, Afro B, Greeicy, and J Noa adds layers of depth to this already rich tapestry of sound. The result is a project that exudes sensuality, passion, and personal empowerment.

This is a world to me… Finding that individuality through ‘Pantera’ was one of the best exercises I’ve ever done,

” expresses Goyo. Through this album, she rediscovers herself as an artist—a journey that was both liberating and fulfilling.

The tracks on “

Pantera” each hold unique stories within them. Take for example “KeRoWe” featuring Pras where Goyo delves into themes of empowerment and self-respect. She explains how important it is for women to stand up against mistreatment saying: “This song was produced in London… when I thought about them [lyrics], I thought about a woman telling her ex-boyfriend to not do the same things to other women as he did to me.”

Another poignant track is “Cuaderno,” an R&B piece born out of introspection during therapy sessions. Exploring themes of self-reflection and emotional release,Goyo shares: “There were many moments in my life where I screamed what I felt… In this song,I try to explain that I was never alone.”

Lastly,”Que Se Prende” featuring DFZM blends Amapiano and Bounce genres seamlessly. These songs are more than just music—they are windows into Goyo’s soul.
