Delegates gathered, excitement palpable as they posed for photos during the press conference announcing the upcoming ASEAN Police Football Open 2025 in Hà Nội. The event promises to be a thrilling display of sportsmanship and camaraderie among regional police officers.
The tournament will feature eight teams divided into two groups following a draw conducted recently. Group A includes Việt Nam 1, Laos, Thailand, and Cambodia, set to compete at Hàng Đẫy Stadium in Hà Nội. On the other hand, Group B consists of Việt Nam 2, Australia, Singapore, and Timor Leste, with matches scheduled at the PFV Training Centre in Hưng Yên Province.
Kicking off on July 7th with a round-robin format in the first stage, teams will battle it out for a chance to qualify for the semi-finals. The tournament’s opening ceremony is scheduled for July 9th, while the highly anticipated final and closing ceremony will take place on July 15th.
Colonel Phạm Kim Đĩnh expressed pride in hosting this prestigious event once again:
“This is the fourth time that Việt Nam has hosted the tournament. The previous editions were immensely successful and conveyed meaningful messages both locally and internationally.”
The ASEAN Police Football Open serves not only as a platform for officers to showcase their physical prowess but also as an opportunity to foster friendship and cooperation among security forces responsible for maintaining order in the region.
As preparations intensify ahead of the tournament kick-off, Colonel Đĩnh highlighted meticulous planning:
“The host country has laid out a comprehensive plan covering logistics, communication strategies, international relations coordination security measures, and healthcare services.”
In addition to fierce competition on the field, participants can look forward to engaging in cultural exchanges along with heritage site tours showcasing Việt Nam’s warm hospitality.
Nguyễn Thị Thanh Hà from VFF shared insights into officiating plans:
“The tournament will boast high-quality officiating by referees from Malaysia, Hong Kong (China), Thailand collaborating with Vietnamese referees ensuring fairness throughout.”
