Swiss firm Rosenxt has recently made headlines by confirming its acquisition of the UK-based subsea and offshore wind technology firm, Beam. This move comes in the wake of Beam’s unfortunate collapse into administration earlier this year, resulting in significant job losses and financial liabilities.
Beam, a product of the merger between Rovco and Vaarst, faced challenges that led to debts exceeding £50 million. However, Rosenxt stepped in to acquire selected assets from Beam’s parent company Rovco through a deal with administrators. The acquisition included valuable components such as intellectual property rights and office leases for a reported sum of £750,000.
Moreover, as part of the agreement, Rosenxt also deposited £250,000 towards acquiring Beam’s Xplorer vessel pending successful sea trials later in the month. The Swiss company based in Stans views this strategic move as an opportunity to bolster its subsea capabilities and reinforce its commitment to sectors like critical infrastructure and energy.
In a statement regarding the acquisition, Rosenxt emphasized that while it marks a significant consolidation of expertise from Beam, it does not entail an exact continuation of all former operations. Rather than duplicating efforts, Rosenxt intends to leverage key technical assets and talent from Beam to lay down a solid foundation for future advancements.
Chairman Hermann Rosen highlighted how Beam’s innovative legacy aligns perfectly with Rosenxt’s forward-thinking vision for pioneering next-generation subsea technologies over the coming decade.
“This acquisition strengthens our ability to lead in next-generation subsea technologies,”
said Rosen.
Dirk van Vinckenroye, General Manager at Rosenxt acknowledged the challenging circumstances faced by clients, partners, and former employees post-Beam’s closure. He expressed optimism about charting a new path forward that prioritizes stability alongside innovation.
Founded by Hermann Rosen in late 2023 after his tenure at ROSEN Group—a prominent player initially focused on pipeline services—Rosenxt is poised for growth across various cutting-edge domains including sensor technology, autonomous robotics, AI applications ,and advanced materials tailored for harsh environments such as subsea exploration activities.
With offices spanning across multiple countries including Germany where it was established along with locations in Canada, the US,the Netherlands, and Vietnam,Rosenxt is primed to continue pushing boundaries within the realm of high-tech solutions for critical infrastructures worldwide.
The recent acquisition of Beam underscores not just business expansion but also heralds future collaborations aimed at shaping the industry landscape positively. As these two entities come together under one roof,it signifies more than just a transaction—it symbolizes a convergence of visions, determined to drive innovation further while honoring past achievements.
