Tinubus Re-election Otuaros Call for Niger Delta Support in 2027 Presidential Race

The political landscape in the Niger Delta region has been stirred up by recent developments as Dr. Dennis Otuaro, the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), made a fervent call to the people of the Niger Delta to throw their weight behind President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office. This endorsement came on the heels of South-South All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders’ resolute decision to back Tinubu as their sole candidate for the upcoming 2027 presidential election.

In a bid to rally support and solidify this stance, key figures and governors from various states in the South-South region convened in Abuja to officially endorse Tinubu. Their endorsement signals a unified front within the APC ranks, with notable leaders from Edo, Delta, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom states lending their voices to this strategic move.

Dr. Otuaro expressed his unwavering support for this decision, emphasizing that it is a well-deserved acknowledgment of Tinubu’s steadfast dedication to advancing the interests of the Niger Delta region. He highlighted Tinubu’s track record of implementing impactful developmental initiatives across various sectors in the region.

“The Niger Delta has greatly benefited from President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, evident through strategic developmental interventions such as crucial appointments, infrastructure projects, establishment of new institutions, and enhanced funding for existing agencies,”

Dr. Otuaro remarked.

The endorsement also underscores Tinubu’s legislative efforts aimed at bolstering educational and socio-economic development in the region. Acts like enacting bills that led to establishing critical institutions like Maritime University in Okerenkoko and Federal University of Environment and Technology in Ogoniland showcase his genuine commitment towards uplifting these communities.

Moreover, Dr. Otuaro drew attention to Tinubu’s proactive approach towards infrastructure development by citing projects like Lagos-Calabar Expressway as pivotal endeavors that underscore his vision for holistic regional growth.

Encouraging unity among stakeholders in the South-South region, Dr. Otuaro urged residents to align with their political leaders’ decisions to ensure continuity of meaningful progress under what he described as “a leader who listens.

However, amid these political maneuvers, Dr. Otuaro issued a word of caution directed at the youths within the region and beneficiaries of PAP programs against falling prey to opportunistic politicians with hidden agendas. He advised them not to be swayed by deceptive tactics employed by individuals who do not have genuine intentions towards fostering sustainable development in the Niger Delta.

We must remain vigilant against those who seek to exploit our youth or manipulate our collective aspirations for personal gain,” Dr. Otuaro emphasized while urging continued support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid slated for 2027.

As discussions around Nigeria’s political future intensify heading into 2027 elections build momentum, alliances are being forged and strategies crafted within various regions – all aimed at influencing outcomes that will shape Nigeria’s trajectory moving forward.
